“I have been getting services from Generations at my home for 2 _ years now. Before this, I used to have a hard time trusting anyone. I have tried many therapy places in the past and didn’t have any luck. I couldn’t ride in cars, go in public places, or talk to people in public. I usually stayed home, didn’t leave my house, and hardly came out of my room! My house was dark with the shades shut and this reflected how I felt inside. All of this was because of my depression and high anxiety. Now I take care of myself, get dressed up to go out in public, and I can talk to people. I have even used the public bus a couple of times. I feel less anxious and I let the sunlight into my house. The other day my daughter said to me “Mom, you’re like a mom now.” I have come this way because my therapist listened to me and didn’t judge. I can trust her. I was able to change because I can talk about things that bother me. Two of my kids also work with Generations and they like it too.”
